William R. McKoskeyPresident William graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Degree in 1988. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Minnesota. Since his hiring in 1988, he has been an engineer/project manager for over 10,000,000 square feet of design/build projects with a mechanical construction value exceeding $100,000,000.00. William became a partner in 1992 and has served as president since 2003.

Joseph P. O'ShaughnessyVice President Joe is a 1981 graduate of Dunwoody College of Technology in the Environmental Design-HVAC program. He has been employed at Horwitz/NSI, Inc since 1981. During his 28 years at Horwitz/NSI, he has been a project manager and designer. He has completed numerous projects in the following categories: apartment housing, hotels, office buildings, industrial and high-tech manufacturing facilities.
Joe maintains many ongoing accounts at various manufacturing facilities such as: Andersen Windows, Seagate Technologies, Hutchinson Technology, F.S.I. International, General Mills and Valspar. He has extensive experience with facility shut-downs for equipment transition and possesses a full understanding of the necessities required to have facility operations back to 100% to maintain production and clean room operations. He has completed several clean rooms ranging from Class 10 to 10,000 including the associated high purity piping systems affiliated with them.
Ty P. HlavachekVice President - Secretary Ty is a 1995 graduate of the University of Wisconsin- Stout, with a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management and a minor in Business. Ty has been employed at Horwitz/NSI since 1995. During his 14 years at Horwitz/NSI, Ty has had many responsibilities. First, starting as an Assistant Project Manager/CAD Engineer and finally working his way up the ladder to become a Project Manager/Owner.
Ty has been involved in all phases of the mechanical construction process, from sales, project design, project management, to project closeout. He has completed many projects consisting of High Rise Office Space, Hospitals/Medical Buildings, Churches, Schools, Restaurants, High Tech/High Purity Manufacturing Facilities, Office/Warehouse Facilities, Multi-Family Housing, and Printing Facilities.
Fred WilliamsonPresident NS/I Mechanical Fred graduated from Iowa State University in 1969 with a BS in Engineering. He has worked in the HVAC industry for over 32 years, first for Honeywell and then for another mechanical contractor before joining NS/I in 1989 as a project manager. He became a partner in 1991 and president in 1997. NS/I became part of Horwitz in 2007 and functions as the service and special projects department of the company.
Fred still maintains an extensive list of customers in addition to handling the day to day management of NSI Mechanical. He has extensive experience with all types of HVAC replacements and upgrades, tenant finish and remodel, and preventive maintenance contracts. Since 1989 he has been involved with numerous data center cooling installations and upgrades and has extensive knowledge of this very specialized business.
Bob ReynoldsProject Manager Bob is a 1981 graduate of Dunwoody College of Technology in the Environmental Design-HVAC program. He has been employed at Horwitz/NSI since 1996 and has worked within the industry since 1981. Bob’s roles include being a project manager, estimator and mechanical designer. He has completed numerous projects in the following categories: automobile dealerships, apartment buildings, office buildings, industrial, institutional, schools, high-tech manufacturing facilities, churches and medical facilities.
Some of the facilities Bob has done work for include: Luther Automotive Company, Heraeus, Pioneer Press, Ecolab, Minneapolis Public Schools, Caterpillar, Carmichael-Lynch, Suburban Imaging, Dart Transit, IWCO and Minnehaha Academy and numerous others. He has extensive experience with wide range of mechanical and plumbing systems.
Robert L. WilderProject Manager Rob is a 1978 BSME from the University of Minnesota Mechanical Engineering program. He has been employed at Horwitz/NSI since 2004. He has over 30 years in the business, including 14 years in the engineering design business, (9 years at the Director of Engineering level) and 16 years in the design build mechanical contracting field. During his tenure at Horwitz/NSI, he has been a project manager and engineer. He has completed numerous projects in the following categories: healthcare, hotels, office buildings, district heating and cooling and industrial and high-tech manufacturing facilities. Rob’s strength is in innovative energy and cost saving design. All of his work in the past four years has been negotiated “open book” contracts. He is an advocate of a team approach project delivery method and keeps the end user in mind as the most important entity on the project.
Jeff RusinkoProject Manager Jeff is a 25 year Navy veteran with extensive experience in aviation and shipboard operations. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota (1976/BA), The University of Southern California (1988/MS) and Dunwoody Institute (2003/AA Mechanical Design).
He has been employed at Horwitz/NSI since 2002. During his tenure at Horwitz/NSI he has been a drafter and project manager and has maintained accounts with Target Corporation, Medtronic, AGA, Best Buy and Ryan Companies. This work has ranged from system repairs and upgrades to facility expansion involving both process piping and plumbing.
Greg KranzProject Manager Greg graduated from Dunwoody Institute of Technology in 2005 with a Bachelor’s degree in HVAC Design. He has been a Horwitz/NSI employee since 2005 and is proficient in AutoCAD and Revit 3-D drafting software.
Joshua A. CounihanProject Engineer Joshua graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Degree in 2006. He is a registered Engineer in Training with the State of Minnesota. Joshua has been employed at Horwitz/NSI since 2006.
Marty VerduzcoProject Manager Marty is a 1998 graduate of Dunwoody College of Technology with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Engineering Drafting and Design Technology.
Since 1998 Marty has been involved in all aspects of the commercial HVAC construction trades including designing, estimating, installing and project managing, and commissioning mechanical systems. Marty has gained his experience working on a variety of projects, large and small, from minor HVAC system modifications to larger projects.
These include the complete mechanical design of St. Thomas School of Law in Minneapolis, the project management of the Honeywell remodel at the Golden Valley facility, and the project management of the entire new mechanical construction at St. Croix Prep Academy in Baytown Township.
He also has extensive design and project management experience in office buildings, office/warehouse, institutional facilities, high rise, retail, religious and the entertainment sector.
Marty joined the NS/I Horwitz Mechanical team in 2009 and has been a welcome addition.
Robbie SkantzProject/Service Manager Robbie is a 2003 graduate of Dunwoody Institute Minneapolis Pipefitters Local 539 Apprenticeship Program. He carries an Associates Degree from Vermilion Community College, 1993. In 1996 Robbie started at Horwitz/NSI as a pre apprentice in the Pipefitters training program. Throughout his pipefitting career Robbie has worked on a wide variety of projects gaining extensive experience in installing complex high and low pressure steam heating systems, whole building humidification and dehumidification systems, state-of-the-art chilled water and refrigeration cooling systems for Data Centers and complete facility cooling. While working with Horwitz/NSI, Robbie also worked for several years in the semi-conductor industry. He gained valuable training from some of the best pipefitters in the industry learning ultra high purity piping techniques, orbital welding, Heliarc welding and fusion welding, with such materials as stainless steel, PVDF, Teflon, polypropylene, SIG-F and many others. These plants offered him knowledge in many different "Clean-Room" environments. In 2008, Robbie moved into his current position offering help with project/service management, estimating, and sales consultation.

Peter GreeneAccount Executive Peter is a 1994 graduate from Lincoln Technical Institute in Union, NJ where he studied heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration. He also studied Liberal Arts at Dundalk Community College in Baltimore, Md. Peter has been with Horwitz/NSI since 2008. Since 1995, Peter has worked closely with clients to develop long term strategies that keep operational costs as low as possible while maintaining maximum comfort and productivity. Through the sale of service agreements and service retrofit projects, he has gained project management, estimating and design experience, and has participated in numerous quality improvement processes geared towards ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. Peter has worked in all types of non-residential facilities including commercial, industrial and institutional buildings. He also holds a refrigerant certification license and numerous other certificates for leadership, salesmanship and time management.
Cindy has been employed by Horwitz/NSI since 1991
and is the Controller. Some of her duties include
overseeing payroll and accounts payable; handling
collections, financial statements, quarterly reporting,
benefits coordinator, insurance, and I.T. Support.
Mary PundtOffice Manager Mary is the Office Manager and has been employed with Horwitz/NSI since 1987. She oversees the functions of the office and human resources. Some of her duties include typing all correspondence, reviewing subcontract agreements, certificates of insurance requirements, as well as accounts receivable.
Ardell DavisCustomer Service Manager Ardell has a 2 year degree in HVAC from Hennepin Technical College. She has been an NSI employee since 1996. Some of her duties include: overseeing scheduling of service repairs, customer service and ordering material.
June SpillmanNSI Controller June has been employed with Horwitz/NSI since 2003. She has worked in the HVAC and electrical industry since 1980. June is the controller for the service division. She does all payroll and financial projects for NSI. She handled the computer conversion in 2006 and maintains the on going problems with the Jonas system for the service division.
Diane SimmonAdministrative Assistant Diane has been employed at Horwitz, Inc since 2004. She is an administrative assistant to the controller. Her focus has been on payroll, working with the unions and accounts payable.
Kathy MercilAdministrative Assistant Kathy has been employed at Horwitz/NSI since August 1990. She handles all of the typing duties for the president and project managers and any miscellaneous typing as needed. Assists the controller with any projects necessary and processes daily deposits for the bank. Kathy handles all general office duties that are asked of her.
Mindy has been an employee with Horwitz/NSI
since 2003. She was hired as an Administrative
Assistant assisting the Office Manager in working
with project managers and accounts receivable. In
February 2008 she transferred to the Service
Division where her duties include dispatching and
accounts payable.
